Outsourced Credentialing
Credentialing Outsourcing for Growing Provider Organizations
A managed credentialing and payer enrollment back office for multi-entity, multi-state groups — run inside your existing system of record, sequenced by billable effective dates, reported at the stage level.
Most groups do not outsource because credentialing is hard — they outsource because it does not scale
One credentialing specialist covers a predictable volume. Add twenty providers, two states, and a second tax ID, and the same person is now triaging: the loudest request gets worked, the quiet ones age, and the cost surfaces later as unbilled encounters and retroactive claim problems rather than as a credentialing metric.
An outsourced program changes the shape of the function. Capacity flexes with hiring instead of lagging it, the queue is sequenced by revenue impact instead of arrival order, and the whole program is documented so no single departure strands work in flight. Your team keeps ownership of strategy, contracts, and decisions; we run the execution and reporting.
We work inside the platform or tracker you already use, so there is one source of truth and nothing to migrate.
What you get from a managed scope
Capacity that matches hiring
Cohorts of new providers, new locations, and new states absorbed without a hiring cycle. Credentialing stops being the constraint on growth plans.
Revenue-ordered sequencing
Work prioritized by billable effective dates — group contracts before provider links, high-volume payers before low — instead of first-in, first-out.
Multi-entity and multi-state coverage
Entity, tax ID, NPI, and license mapping before submission so applications are not filed against the wrong legal entity and restarted.
Works in your system of record
No migration, no parallel tracker, no per-seat software cost for the labor. We use the platform you already own.
Reporting leadership can act on
Stage-level status with named blockers and effective dates, plus a rolling expirables calendar across the whole organization.
No single-person risk
A team and documented process behind the program, so a departure or leave does not strand in-flight applications.
In-house, software, or outsourced
In-house specialist
Deep institutional knowledge, fixed capacity. Works well at stable volume; breaks during hiring surges, new-state expansion, and leave or turnover.
Credentialing software
Good system of record, reminders, and document storage. Still requires people to submit, follow up, escalate, and reconcile — and often charges per provider seat.
Outsourced program
Variable capacity plus documented process, run inside whatever system you own, with revenue-ordered sequencing and reporting to leadership.
Credentialing outsourcing FAQs
What does outsourced credentialing actually include?
A managed scope rather than a task list: provider intake and document collection, CAQH build and attestation control, primary source verification, commercial and government payer enrollment, group and individual contracting support, revalidations and re-credentialing, expirable tracking, roster maintenance, and recurring status reporting at the provider, payer, entity, and state level.
How does outsourcing compare to hiring an internal team?
An internal specialist is fixed capacity: they cover a known volume, and hiring cycles lag your growth by months. Outsourcing converts credentialing into variable capacity that flexes with hiring cohorts, new states, and new payer contracts — and removes single-person risk, where one departure strands every in-flight application.
How does outsourcing compare to credentialing software?
Software gives you a system of record and reminders; someone still has to do the work. We do the work, and we do it inside the platform you already own — Medallion, MedTrainer, Verifiable, Modio, symplr, or internal trackers and shared drives. No migration, and no per-provider software seat charged for labor you still have to perform.
Do we have to change systems?
No. We operate in your existing system of record so there is one source of truth. If you have no system, we run a structured tracker and reporting cadence and hand it over cleanly if you later adopt a platform.
How is an outsourced engagement priced?
Scoped per program rather than per form: a monthly managed scope based on provider count, payer count, entity count, and states, with project pricing for backlog remediation, entity setup, or new-state expansion. We quote after a scoping call rather than publishing a per-provider rate that would be wrong for most large organizations.
Can you take over a program that is already behind?
That is most of the work we take on. We inventory every provider, payer, and entity, separate applications that are stalled from those never actually submitted, rebuild the roster from payer-confirmed data, and clear the queue in revenue order within a defined project window.
What reporting do we get?
A recurring status report by provider, payer, entity, and state: submitted date, payer acknowledgment, current stage, effective date, and blocked items with a named owner for each blocker — the format finance and operations leaders can act on without asking follow-up questions.
How do you handle security and provider data?
We work under a business associate agreement, operate inside your systems and access controls wherever possible, and limit provider data to what each payer submission requires. Access is scoped per engagement and removed at offboarding.
